211kg

  • Eddie Hall

Graham Hicks and Eddie Hall attempted but failed 220kg. Both lifts were close but Hall’s fail definitely had more panache – blacking out mid press and dropping a 220kg log on your head has got to be pretty uncomfortable. He was back on his feet in no-time though so hopefully no lasting harm done.

Zydrunas Savickas attempted but failed 228kg

After a lot of hype between Oberst and Hall it seems the Brit came out victorious but we doubt the competitors will be fully content with their performance – Oberst not fulfilling his potential and Hall coming so close to 220kg.

Also a weird sight to see Big Z failing a lift – whether it was too big a jump from his 211kg previous lift or not, who knows?! Despite the lack of a world record at Doncaster today we’re pretty certain the current record won’t see the year out. Rumours of a max log at World’s Strongest Man will surely see the record broken.
